The different breast problems are treated in different ways depending on the changes as well as problems caused. Let us try to look at the following problems below:

 Breast lump

A lump in the breast usually occur when there’s an unusual growth of tissue within the breast region.

This thickening or swelling could be cancerous or benign. The most common kind of  lump are cysts and fibroadenoma. These conditions could form in the breast region because of inflammation, infection, fibrocystic disease, periductal because of tumors, and papilloma. Breast lumps are typically caused by the hormonal changes in someone’s body and they occur right before the menstrual period. It usually disappears after the menstrual period. If you’re above thirty years old and the lump is still there, a mammogram examination would be needed in order to figure out the cause the lumps. Needle aspiration is considered as one of the many ways to take away the fluid from the lump but if in case the it’s a solid kind of lump, biopsy might be required for more accurate diagnosis.

 Breast Pain
Breast pain is quite different from breast lump but it is also commonly caused by hormonal changes during the menstrual period. The hormonal changes could result to pain but it is not considered as a very serious problem. There is another sort of pain that is not wholly related to menstrual cycle and it is a pain that may only occur in a specific part of the breast. The usual causes of breast pain are strain, injury or some organ problems. But there is no need to worry that much because there are several medications available to relieve the pain.

 Breast Discharge
Breast discharge unlike breast lump is common during breast-feeding or pregnancy period.

Many women are experiencing brownish, greenish or sometimes yellowish discharge when they squeeze their nipples. But a spontaneous breast discharge might call for an immediate attention, meaning there is a need for conducting a ductogram, ultrasound and mammogram.breast lump

If you think you have developed a lump, breast pain or breast discharge, it is important to see a doctor right away and undergo proper screening. There are two means to detect breast problems like breast lump, first is by self-breast examination and second is through mammogram.
